Meet Dr. Brandon Hedgecock
Dr. Brandon Hedgecock spent his childhood years moving around the world wherever his father’s career as a helicopter pilot in the US Army took them. He attended high school in El Paso, Texas, and received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Texas at Austin where he was a four-year member of the Longhorn Football Team. Dr. Hedgecock realized his childhood dream of becoming a dentist when he graduated from the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio with his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) in 2007. He is fervently continuing his training and education in order to provide a wide range of services such as IV sedation, extractions (including wisdom teeth), and complex restorative cases.
In 2014, Dr. Hedgecock introduced oral appliance therapy and sleep medicine into his dental practices in South Austin and Cedar Park. Having family members diagnosed with sleep apnea, Dr. Hedgecock was intrigued by the positive effects that treatment of this disorder has had on their lives. This encouraged him to seek training in the field of sleep dentistry so that he could provide the same benefits to his patients and community.
"Treating sleep apnea helps patients to feel better, helps them live longer and healthier lives, and saves marriages. It is by far one of the most rewarding things that I do in my practice."
As a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Dr. Hedgecock has made a commitment to remain on the forefront of research and technology in order to provide his patients with the best possible treatment for sleep apnea. He regularly takes part in continuing education events and study clubs and is proud to have achieved Diplomate Status with the American Sleep and Breathing Academy. He is on track to receive the same recognition from the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine in 2017. Dr. Hedgecock enjoys working closely with sleep physicians in the Austin community to ensure that patients get thorough and comprehensive care.
Meet Dr. Kerr
From Amarillo, TX and after undergrad at Texas Tech University, Dr. Kerr received his General Dentistry degree in 2007 and spent five years providing dental care for underserved children in San Antonio and Roswell, New Mexico. In May 2013, he decided to take a break from working in the corporate dental world, where he felt patients were treated more like numbers than people. He opened Vista Ridge Family Dentistry with the goal of creating strong relationships with his patients and the community.
Dr. Kerr is an active member of the American Dental Association and is passionate about continuing education. Through his studies, Dr. Kerr learned of the correlation between tooth damage and sleep apnea. Prior to his learning, sleep apnea hit very close to home. Both his mother-in-law and grandfather suffered severe strokes caused by their sleep apnea. Wanting to prevent this occurring in his patient population, Dr. Kerr began his extensive training with Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Kerr is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines and is committed to treating his patients with the highest standard to help them live a long and fruitful life.
Outside of work, Dr. Kerr is passionate about personal growth through reading and exercise, but what he enjoys most of all is spending time with his supportive wife, Jeannie, and his adored daughters, Kiran and Korey.
